Carry On Essentials

As much as I love beauty products, I am a huge supporter of going makeup-free on flights. The dry (and awful) air on planes can make your skin become irritated and flakey if you wear too much makeup...and you won't be able to save your skin and moisturize if you have a full face of makeup on! Below I've listed some of the products that I use to keep my skin hydrated, as well as some light makeup products that I use just before landing. This list is what I use on long-haul flights when I've checked my luggage, and don't need to worry about how many liquids I've brought in my carry on!

1. YES TO CUCUMBERS TRAVEL FACIAL WIPES: Love these for removing makeup, dirt, and grime without the hassle of washing your face in those tiny plane bathrooms. These wipes have a cooling affect after use, and make you feel clean and fresh on long flights.

2. NEUTROGENA OIL FREE MOISTURIZER: Super light-weight moisturizer that helps quench thirsty skin, but doesn't leave an oily residue.

3. VISINE TIRED EYE RELIEF EYEDROPS:  I use these drops to keep my eyes from drying out and becoming painful.

4. BLISTEX MEDICATED LIP OINTMENT: Got to keep your lips moisturized too! This lip ointment keep my lips from cracking, chapping, and hurting altogether!

Right before my plane is about to land, I always apply a little bit of light makeup to avoid looking like the walking dead ;) These products below are what I use to add a little bit of life to my face, without an overload of too many products.

5. DIORSKIN NUDE BB CREAM: A light-weight base that brightens your skin and helps lightly cover any blemishes or imperfections.

6. SEPHORA SMOOTHING BRIGHTENING CONCEALER: This concealer does a great job of brightening and covering up dark circles! It's the perfect concealer for making you look less like you just spent the last 48 hours restless and travelling, and more like you just woke up from a restful sleep.

7. RIMMEL STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER: Cover up those enlarged pores and unavoidable oil with a pressed powder. This powder by Rimmel covers up really well, but doesn't make you look cakey!

8. E.L.F. STUDIO BLUSH IN TICKLED PINK: This super inexpensive blush is perfect for adding some colour back into your cheeks, and giving you a rosy glow.

9. RIMMEL SCANDALEYES WATERPROOF KOHL KAJAL EYE PENCIL: I use this nude eye pencil for tight-lining both my upper and lower lids. It helps make the eyes look brighter and more awake.

10. MAYBELLINE COLOSSAL WATERPROOF MASCARA: My absolute holy-grail mascara. It's waterproof, relatively oil-proof, and perfect for adding tons of volume. It makes your lashes really thick and healthy-looking. However, it doesn't add too much length...which is great for ensuring that you don't look like you have on fake lashes.

11. REVLON LASH CURLER: Inexpensive but effective, this lash curler helps make your eyes look more open and awake.
