Pumpkin Carving with Ricki!

Fall has finally come to Kelowna! The trees are turning burnt oranges and reds, and the temperatures are starting to drop. This weekend Ricki and I went to dinner, went diving through Walmart crates of pumpkins, and then carved said pumpkins!

The final product: Cheshire Cat Pumpkin! 

This was the first time I had carved a pumpkin in at least 10 years, so I was feeling like quite the amateur next to Ricki, the annual pumpkin carving machine! After some help scooping out all the guts, I made my pumpkin into the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. I was very proud the little guy! Ricki opted for the classic Jack-o'-lantern look, which ended up looking great (and was far less strenuous of an endeavor!). Next year I'm hoping to go for something fun, but with less intricacy!
